APRILIA TUONO 1000 [2005-2010] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. This highly developed chain does not require regular relubrication, which makes it particularly low-maintenance. Motorcyclists benefit from significant time and cost savings as the usual lubrication every 1,000 km is no longer necessary.

Extensive testing in laboratories and on the road has proven that the HPE chain lasts at least as long as traditional lubricated Z-ring chains, if not longer. A key feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance and longevity. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and the elimination of lubricant splashes during operation minimizes environmental impact. This innovative technology was developed through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
