SUZUKI GSX 1300 R HAYABUSA [2008-2020] - Z-ring chain with HPE technology

The Regina Z-Ring chain with HPE (High Performance Endurance) technology represents an innovative development in the field of motorcycle chains. This special chain does not require regular relubrication, which would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This represents a significant improvement compared to traditional Z-ring chains, which require regular lubrication.

Extensive laboratory and road testing has proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least equivalent to, if not longer than, that of a traditional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A key feature of this chain is the Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C) coating, one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and preventing lubricant splashes during operation minimizes environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
