HUSQVARNA NUDA 900 [2012] - Z-ring chain with HPE

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring chain sets new standards in motorcycle technology. This chain features innovative Z-ring technology with High Performance Endurance (HPE), which eliminates the need for regular lubrication that would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This means less maintenance and a longer service life compared to conventionally lubricated Z-ring chains.

Extensive testing both in the laboratory and on the road has proven that the HPE chain is at least as durable as, if not more durable than, traditional Z-ring chains. A special feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and offers very high hardness while maintaining a low coefficient of friction.

The ta-C coating reduces energy losses and increases the efficiency of the secondary drive. Additionally, the elimination of chain cleaning and lubricant splashes during operation minimizes environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
